- אוֹנָיָהf. (= אוֹנָאָה; cmp. Ezek. 46:18) prop. oppression, wrong, hence confiscation, dispossession. Pl. אוֹנָיוֹת, Midr. Till. to Ps. 104:24 (play on oniyoth ibid.) אלו הא׳וכ׳ those are the oppressive measures which they inflict upon Israel, which they order to be written out eveny day. Pesik. R. Hash. p. 151a>; Yalk. Jer. 312 הוֹנָיוֹת וזמיות confiscations and fines (Yalk. Gen. 121; Lev. R. s. 29, a. e. ארנוניות, v. Buber Pesik. l. c. note).
